Success Stories
Over the years our team has created genuinely business-changing results. Have a look at some of our recent work below.
Voyage Outlet
Voyage Outlet is the outlet store for Voyage Maison, one of Scotland’s largest fabric and design firms, supplying designer cushions, fabrics, lampshades and furniture.
Background
Voyage Outlet approached us early 2020. The main brand website, voyagemaison.com was currently being rebuilt and the company had launched a new Shopify store that wasn’t generating enough traction.
Strategy
The main goals for this site was threefold.
- Technical SEO; the company had a whole ton of broken internal links, slow loading pages and duplicate content. I felt quite bad for Googlebot having to crawl this site…
- On-Page SEO; all title tags and meta descriptions were dynamically generated, meaning they didn’t really pull users into the site. We focused on improving the Title Tags and Meta Descriptions, optimising for CTR.
- Off-page SEO; we built out a citation campaign purely for link volume. Next, we focused on winning editorial guest contributions on trusted industry sites. As the site’s authority increased we looked at adding in a few high powered niche edits from existing pages that Google already trusts.
Results
After 6 Months:
- A 5 figure increase in sales coming through search engines like Google.
- 600% Increase in Organic Traffic
- 454 Keywords on page 1 of Google
West Coast Foods
West Coast Foods is one of the UK’s largest direct to customer, fresh meat supplier. Offering select cuts from Scottish produce, the company offers Europe-wide next day delivery. West Coast Foods also manufacture the Skinni Range, a well known lean meat brand featured in supermarkets nation-wide.
Background
The company had launched its website in 2014 and had seen steady growth heading towards mid-2016. However, West Coast Foods knew that the European market was massive and wanted a solution that matched their products to customers searching online.
Strategy
The first stage was a site-wide technical audit. This highlighted some trademark Magento issues and a few ‘bespoke’ errors. These technical faults were briefed into the development team and quickly addressed. This included a successful migration from HTTP to HTTPS.
The second stage was a full on-page overhaul. Some work had been done, but we felt that more could be done to improve SERP listings (title tags and meta descriptions) alongside content quality. The team carried out meta updates and liaised with the content team to identify areas of improvement.
Finally, a large scale, continual link building strategy was outlined and implemented. This involves influencer outreach at scale, reaching out to key thought leaders within healthy eating communities, niche food directory listings and thought leadership pieces on high-quality blogs and news sites.
Results
After only four months, the company reported an organic sales (sales through SEO) increase of over 280% and a near 500% increase in branded search terms for ‘Skinni Range’. This campaign has seen the company increasing the number of page 1 rankings from 256 to 452 over the space of 7 months.
Allfloors Glasgow
Allfloors Glasgow is a local flooring company in the south of Glasgow specializing in the supply and installation of luxury vinyl tiles.
Background
We began working on the Allfloors website in early 2018. This website already had a decent SEO presence, but the owner was looking to both maintain the businesses current rankings in a competitive landscape whilst expanding into new areas.
Strategy
The first stage involved a technical audit which highlighted some UX focusing around searcher intent and site speed. A1 SEO Glasgow acted quickly, launching the website on Cloudflare and optimizing images to save file size.
Secondly, we focused on creating key ‘thought leadership’ pieces with the aim of both getting new visitors to a blog and creating linkable assets to help our link building strategy.
Finally, we reached out to key blogs in the flooring niche, eventually branching out to the home improvement and lifestyle niches to amplify the website’s content.
After we had a nice pool of fresh, high-quality links, it was simply a case of rinse and repeat.
Results
100+ high value leads a month
61.26% increase in organic traffic year on year on this well-established site.
Page 1 for 150+ keywords. Position 1-3 for 60+ highly commercial and competitive keywords.
Earnock Builders
Background
When A1 SEO Glasgow came on board, the team at Earnock were getting a steady flow of general construction enquiries. These were time-consuming to price and had a low enquiry to sale conversion that house extensions.
After a conversation, it became apparent that the real icing on the cake was house extensions. These converted higher and were easier to price.
Strategy
The main goal for this project was to change Google’s perception of this business from a general builder based outside Hamilton, to a house extension specialist covering Glasgow.
We looked at three main strategies for Earnock Builders:
1) Local SEO
2) On-page SEO
3) Linkbuilding
Our local SEO strategy focused on ranking this company based in Hamilton for commercial keywords local to Glasgow. E.g. “house extensions Glasgow”.
Our on-page SEO strategy focused on tweaking on-page elements to focus in on house extensions and move away from general building work.
Our link building strategy focused on obtaining exact match anchors for ‘home extensions Glasgow’ and similar, diluted with branded anchors.
Results
Developed a 9-month backlog of high ticket house extension orders for this well-staffed company in under 3 months.
Page 1 for 20+ highly competitive keywords with high commercial value.
Precision Utility Mapping
Precision Utility Mapping is a nationwide company offering GPR Surveys, a type of underground radar survey used for mapping out utilities.
Background
Precision Utility Mapping had launched 2 new websites, but it was failing to get any traction in the form of leads through their .co.uk and .ie websites.
Strategy
As this was a new website, a complete SEO overhaul was required. We fixed the description tags, headings tag and an issue with the robots.txt file that blocked some critical resources. Next, we implemented speed fixes across the site to optimize the slower server response time. We also added local business, de-indexed low-quality pages to optimize crawl budget and ran a citation campaign to boost local SEO.
Once the website checked all the boxes on the technical and on-page front, we started an on-going link building campaign. This involves reaching out to high-quality blogs and offering quest posts. As the website has no blog of its own, guest posting in moderation is used here.
Results
After only 7 months, the company witnessed a 15x traffic improvement and is receiving more and more steady leads monthly.
Smartlox
Smartlox is a local locksmith in Edinburgh offering general lock fixes and an emergency locksmith service.
Background
Smartlox had been working with an SEO company in Edinburgh for some time but struggling to see any real tangible results. 3 main players dominated the competitive market, and the Smartlox website had struggled to rank on page 1 for years.
Strategy
We focused on link building and local SEO after a quick technical and on-page exercise for this project. The previous company had carried out on-page SEO and some technical fixes, but there were a few issues for us to smooth out.
Our link building strategy focused on both branded anchors and exact match anchors for ‘locksmith Edinburgh’.
Our local SEO strategy focused on citation building, a citation cleanup and adding local business schema.
Results
We moved from position 14 (2nd page) to position 5 (1st page) within 2 months. The website was ranking in position 2 within 9 months.
This resulted in a 156% growth in monthly organic enquiries and a 176% increase in organic monthly visitors over a 5 month period.
Tartan Tweeds
Tartan Tweeds are a global retailer of tartan products based right here in Glasgow.
Background
Tartan Tweeds had embarked on SEO with previous providers in the past but never really got any results. With competition increasing from traditional retailers moving online and after strong yearly performance the team contacted A1 SEO Glasgow for some SEO advice.
Strategy
We started with full technical, off-page and content audits. It became apparent that the site had very little previous SEO work carried out in the past.
Technical SEO recommendations were actioned and a monthly digital PR campaign was put in place.
The real opportunity was apparent in the content (or lack thereof). Using our state of the art entity mapping tools we developed consistent content for category pages rankings in SERPs. This was the main success driver.
The team at A1 SEO Glasgow also reconfigured the Google Merchant Centre feed to better display organic shopping listings.
Results
After 4 months, the company witnessed a 65% increase page 1 keywords alongside a 77.8% increase in users with more steady sales coming through the website.
